In Spring 2013, I intend to participate in some Obstacle Race that goes beyond the individual races I did last year. It’ll be 5+k, with obstacles … and something else.
The primary idea is a Zombie Run, but the response of people I know has been lacking, so here it is. I’m up for any of these, and will do one of them as long as two other people do it with me.
The focus is finishing & having fun with it.
I’ll train, I hope the rest of the team will too, but being the first time & knowing the limitations I have (I’m not that fast, and my endurance is low) winning is not the real goal here.
Run For Your Lives
Nashville, TN (north west a little) – April 13th
Cost – about $70
A 5k, with Obstacles & zombies trying to capture your flag. How one person described it after watching some videos – murder the man with the ball on a Obstetrical Race.
Savage Race
outside Atlanta – Chattanooga side (3.5 hour drive from Downtown Nashville) – May 11th
Cost – about $80
4 to 6 miles – Reminds me of a Tough Mudder in both obstacles & mindset. They rebate $5 to each person on a team, as long as we can get a team of 4 to 15 people (more per person for larger teams).
There is also another near Columbus Ohio in June that I’d be open to.
