Today, as a part of my “focused work or writing” I decided to tackle some of the issues here that I did not like. The first was the series page, then I had time to get to another type of page I call area index.
series nav
The series nav use to point at specific posts, but should work like the nav in the gallery areas — points at pages of the gallery.
Now it works properly, so you are not thrown to a random post, but to a page within the series. Only example at this point is the series Giving Thanks.
If I go another step, it will either jump to the specific article (since there tend to be more then one on each page) or something similar.
area index
This is a type of page, currently working with Series page (now works)
The goal is to make it dynamic so that if you add another page, an expert of that page is added.
It also pulls in a thumbnail, if you had indicated one for the page, using custom keys.
I like the every other image it currently has.
At this point the page template works, though it could be better, but time is up for this project at this point in time.
