For years now I have listened to This Week In Tech.
Where I say that EconTalk is my #1 must listen to show each week … TWiT has often been the first I consume, simply because I know it is time sensitive.
However, the content is inconsistent. More so since they are intentionally trying to get different groups of people on the show each week.
What happens on the show is primarily dependent on the group. The feel, pace, and topics are not dependent on what happens in Tech each week, but what hosts are on the show.
My life is also changing. I don’t have 20 minutes to devote to talking about political topics, or baseball, or other topics that are interesting to the hosts and potentially myself. I want to keep up with tech in general, but I am just not getting out of TWiT enough of what I want.
NOW
For years I have also watch The Soup.
It’s a great way to get some laughs, keep up with some elements in pop culture, and takes up less then 20 minutes a week.
I don’t mind spending a hour to hour and a half on Tech … it’s a big topic.
but
what I really want is an audio based podcast that at the end of it I generally know what is going on (past and near future) and a better understanding.
I want The Soup mashed up with TWiT.
I’ll keep listening to TWIg, TWiL, and Windows Weekly – they tend to stay more on topic & topics I want to keep informed on.  I just want the same with a General Tech focused show.
Any ideas? Suggestions?
