I like Kickstarter.
We need more people to create stuff & we need artists to build businesses.
Kickstarter helps with that.
Here are 5 current campaigns I am either watching or have pledged to.
First the non-video game one, then the rest in order of campaign end date.
Defcon Yum! -Â http://kck.st/MYucCJ – a one-a-day bakery.
You have probably heard of Woot, or Groupon. Systems where you are offered one item or deal per day.
This bakery wants to do the same thing with cookies. Each day they are open they make an offer of one cookie that you can purcahse. They will bake the cookies & ship them to you ASAP.
They already have been working on their site Defcon Yum!
Here is what they say:
We’re making this game to finally give gamers a casual town-building game that won’t nag your friends or stop you from playing unless you pay.
The video acctually shows they thinking about a whole world, with multiple games that interconnect. That’s the concept that got me.
Castle Story -Â http://kck.st/LUUWTV – voxel-based creative strategy game about building castles brick by brick and defending them against enemies.
Here is their intro video:
Eternal Fate – http://kck.st/RbyTiw – A competitive PvP-focused action RPG.
The combination of types of games is what drew me to this one.
Planetary Annihilation -Â http://kck.st/NFEGYb – a next generation RTS
This one is interesting and wacky.
One thing going for this project is that the Game Studio has done many games over the years.
