All website development projects were put on hold recently when it was learned that wordpress v2.7 was close to being released.
Going from v2.6.5 to v2.7 is a big change, and thus every site we manage we knew would need to be updated, so why build a new site in the old version when I knew I could wait just a little while and start with the new hotness.
Now that v2.7 is out, the primary focus is the paying clients who don’t have a website (because we are building it). After that comes the most important company site, then the next, etc, and somewhere in there this personal site (not saying what is the most important).
The biggest change that most people pick up on is the new approach to the administration pages, where you post stuff, manage the site, etc, however there are also some fundamental changes in the comment system and a few other things.
It is interesting to me that the wordpress people still view wordpress as a blog software, where I still view it as a great content management system, and it is even better now.
